Agile 2008

This was my first AGILE conference I've attended, and it was great fun. The talks were mostly well done, but often not really my topic of interest. Hence, the always shining sun (which I hadn't much experienced yet this year), and wonderful Girona made it a bit difficult to join all sessions.

The best paper went to Haik Lorenz. His colleague showed some impressive videos of a bending space concept for navigation (see image above). Its high cognitive requirements let me doubt if we will ever see it in our GPS equipment, but it was fun to watch. Which was a bit unfortunate for my colleague Kryztof Janowicz, who was beaten to the second place with his talk about human subject test results of his similarity approach.
I gave a talk about representing the patchwork of geographic information. More about this paper (and the slides of the talk) can be found on my papers blog once I manage to setup the multisite-stuff in drupal.
